Original Prints

Children's Book Gallery deals in a very limited fashion in prints from children's books. This is because we never buy a book with the intent of breaking it up to create individual prints for sale. Rather, we rescue the few prints we can from books that come our way under special circumstances.

For example, from time to time we purchase an estate library, and in that library there may be a few children's books that are incomplete, or in exceptionally poor condition, and therefore cannot be sold "as is," or restored to salable condition. In cases like that, we rescue the prints that are not damaged, and present them for sale with a full description of the book from which they came, along with biographical information about the print's illustrator.

As a result, our supply of fine children's book prints is highly limited, and our inventory is always low. But in the past we have been fortunate to have a few prints from some of the most famous 20th century illustrators of the "Golden Age of Illustration," including:

  • Edmund Dulac (1882-1953)
  • C. B. Falls (1874-1960)
  • Kay Nielsen (1886-1957)
  • Maxfield Parrish (1870-1966)
  • Beatrix Potter (1866-1946)
  • Arthur Rackham (1867-1939)
