Terms of Sale

When we purchase a book in full from our customers, we:

Establish a fair market price for the book offered, using auction records, current catalogue and book fair pricing, and Internet pricing. This is the retail price of the book
  • Establish the wholesale price of the book (typically half of the retail price), which is the price that we can afford to pay for a book.
  • Offer this price to the seller.
  • Upon acceptance, pay the customer the full price at that time.
  • When we accept books on consignment from our customers, we:
  • Research and suggest retail prices for the consigned books.

Sign a consignment contract where:
  • The customer realizes 60% of the sale price of the books, and
  • The Children's Book Gallery realizes 40%.
Payments to the customer are made 90 days from the receipt of sale funds, to insure that consigned books are not returned within 90 days for a refund.
